Colored pencil on matte board | 2012
No process on this one. It's far too old for that. Whatever T9 ass phone I had back then has long since vanished. I did it during my art school days in drawing concepts. I also cannot for the life of me remember what the prompt was. But it was part of a series. The sister drawing was of Grimace, mouth full of burgers, and an old McDonald's slogan. That one I gave away long ago, and don't have pictures of. But, it has the same vibe.
I think this piece made me give up on Prisma Color pencils. The damn things would break constantly. You'd sharpen it and the lead would just fall out.
The "arr!" instead of the registration mark is pretty cringy looking back. This was when that pirate fad was going on. Unfortunately I worked that into this.
Oh, also I never really eat at McDonald's. However, at the time (and still today) fast food was a common part of my life. This one, along with many others, focuses on my struggle with consumption. Either food or just stuff. I see it as problematic but do it anyway.
